The market town of Llanwrtyd Wells

Our nearest town is Llanwrtyd Wells, it is three miles down the valley along the River Irfon. One of four former Victorian Spa towns, the town offers a calmer and quieter pace of life, with plenty of places to find food and drink, including cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops.

Llanwrtyd is famous for its Bog Snorkelling Championships, Man v Horse Marathon, Real Ale Wobble and other wacky events. But if you want to find out more about the history of this unique town, the Llanwrtyd & District Heritage & Arts Centre will take you on a journey through its history and surroundings, and includes interactive exhibits. The Centre also hosts an art gallery showcasing local arts and crafts. Exhibitions and music concerts run throughout the year.

Llanwrtyd is ideal for walking, mountain biking and general touring. There is always plenty to see and do. You can get more ideas for things to do, find out about places to eat in the town, and view upcoming events by visiting the Llantwrtyd Wells website.
